Dear Editor,
If there ever was a One Guyana Moment it would be now. If there ever was a time when we should embrace our National Motto of “One People, One Nation, One Destiny” it would be now. We must come together as one and demand that a binding referendum be presented to the citizens of our great Nation. We must be allowed to have our say and we must ensure that our elected officials do our bidding. CRG calls upon our elected officials, CRG calls upon the AFC + APNU and the PPP/C to speak with one voice and hold a binding referendum to allow our citizens to vote on the renegotiation of the ExxonMobil PSA.
There is now an opportunity to fix what was done wrong. We are a peaceful country and we know that wealth brings temptation, but we are also an understanding country that will give people the opportunity to correct what they have done wrong. It is now time to make this correction.
Rise in one voice and speak clearly and decisively on whether the PSA must be renegotiated. Come together in the spirit of our motto and pursue a shared destiny that is in the best interest of all Guyanese including future generations. This is our One Guyana moment, do not let it slip away.
