Kennard Jabar, 36, of East La Penitence, Georgetown, was placed on 400,000 bail after being charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Jabar, who pleaded not guilty, appeared before Magis-trate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
The charges stem from an incident on October 31 when police stopped Jabar’s vehicle, PZZ 6819, at a roadblock on the new Mandela to Eccles Road in Georgetown. During a search, officers reportedly found a firearm and ammunition hidden under the front passenger seat.
As a result, he was placed on a total of $400,000 bail.
Jabar is scheduled to return to court on November 22.
