Man charged with three types of fraud

Quacy Kit

Thirty-three-year-old Quacy Kit appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on charges of fraudulent misappropriation and obtaining money under false pretence.

Kit allegedly received $965,000 from Khaleel Lovell on October 30, 2024, at Brickdam Road, Georgetown, by falsely claiming he could secure a plot of land for Lovell. Additionally, Kit reportedly obtained $400,000 from Alicia Consius on May 25, 2024, at Young Street, Georgetown, by pretending he could arrange bail for her son. Another charge states that on June 10, 2024, at Freeman Street, La Penitence, Kit was entrusted with $1 million by Nkosi Hilliman but allegedly converted the funds to his personal use.

Kit pleaded not guilty to all charges. The prosecution objected to bail, highlighting that Kit has a history of similar offences and was recently granted bail for a related matter. Additionally, an active arrest warrant is reportedly out for him.

Due to these factors, the magistrate denied bail, citing Kit’s alleged history of similar offences. The case has been adjourned to December 29, 2024, for further proceedings.
