Dear Editor,
I am a senior citizen of this dear land of ours who is being continuously disturbed by the negative manner in which the leading members of the majority party of our government are forever dealing with the suggestions and other contributions of the minority parties, who now form the “Opposition”.
If we explore the histories of the present dictatorships in our world, we will find that this is the modus operandi that has prevailed in most of them – the elected governments, or those that used force to seize power, exploited the available physical resources that they controlled to keep their citizens contented and agreeable with their dictatorial actions, and destroyed any others who had offered some resistance.
I do not have to say much to show that, with our economy forever moving upwards, this will serve to keep any adversaries at bay, as they increasingly adopt this materialistic, unethical and atheistic outlook, as long as their worldly needs are satisfied.
It may serve for our readers to appreciate that I am fully educated and experienced to make these statements by knowing my history of attempting, even with much opposition, to keep our populace all over our country educated, and living moral and unselfish lives so as to play their part in the ethical development of our people, especially those who hold the reins of government. This I tried to achieve in my myriad years as a teacher in various regions of the country, in my columns in the newspapers about ethical practice in the various sections, and in my participation in seminars in all regions.
I shall be looking forward to improved and inclusive governance of the affairs of our nation, hoping that I am making an impact towards this.
Yours sincerely,
Roy Paul
