GHRA queries if Guyana has any message for COP 29

The Guyana Human Rights Association (GHRA) yesterday queried whether this country has any message for the 29th climate conference which opened in Baku, Azerbaijan yesterday.

In a statement yesterday, the GHRA noted that the 29th Conference of Parties (COP), the main vehicle for bringing world leaders together to combat global warming was getting underway and questioned whether any leading Minister of the Guyana Government will attend.

“Given the Government’s undeniable commitment to `drill, baby, drill’, what message Guyana would have for a Conference whose chief priority is to reduce carbon emissions is equally unknown”, the GHRA asked.
