-Nandlall tells outreach
A permanent office of the Deeds & Commercial Registries Authority will be established in Bartica so that residents of Region Seven will no longer have to travel to Georgetown and Essequibo to access these services.
This announcement was made yesterday by Attorney General Anil Nandlall SC during an outreach to the region.
According to a post on his Facebook page, the Attorney General’s Chambers & Ministry of Legal Affairs, the Office of the Public Trustee and the Deeds & Commercial Registries Authority conducted an outreach in Bartica.
He said that scores of people were in attendance to take advantage of the various services being offered by these agencies. This outreach will continue today and persons from the outlying communities in Region 7 and neighbouring Region 10 are expected to attend.
He said that the outreach and the establishment of offices for the Deeds & Commercial Registries Authority is a promise made by President Irfaan Ali to establish one such office in each administrative region of Guyana. In this regard, similar initiatives have already been launched in Region 1 and Region 9. He said that the other regions will be addressed shortly.
Also in attendance at yesterday’s outreach were the Prime Minister’s Representative for the Region, the Mayor of Bartica and Councillors and officers from the Ministry of Housing & Water and the General Register Office.
