A spanking new Medical Equipment and Supplies (MGN) service was launched at Block 4 Mainstay, Essequibo yesterday.

Overseas-based Guyanese Geree (Gigi) Misir Dwarkaprasad and her husband Mahesh (Vishal) Dwarkaprasad opened the new business which aims to enhance local healthcare access by offering affordable and essential medical supplies. At the opening, Dwarkaprasad shared that establishing MGN is a fulfillment of her childhood dreams of returning to her region to provide affordable health care services. “MGN Medical Equipment and Supplies is dedicated to supporting the community by offering affordable and accessible medical supplies,” Dwarkaprasad said.

MGN Medical Equipment and Supplies offers a broad range of products for healthcare professionals and the community, including medical uniforms, lab coats, mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, canes), BP monitors, CPAP machines, PPE supplies, dressing materials, hospital beds, and surgical equipment.

“As a local business, MGN combines convenience, quality, and affordability, making essential healthcare products accessible to everyone in Region Two,” said Dwarkaprasad. She said MGN is committed to providing affordable, quality healthcare supplies, especially for low-income seniors, with the goal of becoming a trusted name in medical supplies in the region. She also highlighted the MGN Care Programme, designed to provide low-income seniors with essential mobility devices and medical equipment for daily living.

Geree left Region Two 24 years ago to study healthcare in Canada but always remembered the struggles her grandparents and others in the community faced due to limited healthcare resources. She said that her store seeks to provide access to those in need. She said that the store will provide medical supplies that will help families care for loved ones with dignity.
