Dear Editor
The recent tragic loss of the talented young attorney, Mark Conway, who collapsed while riding in the National Park in Georgetown, should trigger action in his name, to ensure that defibrillators are installed in major public recreation centers and national sports centers; and that the portable ones are available during major sporting events. There are varieties of portable and other manual automatic defibrillators (AED) that should be considered, in order to prevent losing those actively involved in physical activities. Private gyms, resorts and hotels might consider AEDs standard equipment; or mandated as necessary.
Sincerely,
