Pacesetters and the University of Guyana (UG) Trojans recorded contrasting wins when the Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF) Elite 16 Championship continued on Wednesday night at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
Pacesetters grounded the Amelia’s Ward Jets 64-52. Joslyn Crawford and William Delgado led the victory with 17 and 13 points, respectively. For the loser, Quincy Easton netted points.
On the other hand, the UG Trojans overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat the Retrieve Raiders 71-68. Kadeem Peterkin and Anton Fileen led the comeback with 27 and 26 points, respectively. For the loser, Neil Marks netted 23 points, while Shamar Savoury added 14 points.
The event continues tomorrow at the same location with another round of matches.
