Hosts Uitvlugt maintained their perfect record in the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League, overcoming No. #1 All-Stars by a 2-1 score at the Community Centre ground.
It was a come-from-behind win for the Uitvlugt unit, who surrendered the first half lead in the 20th minute via a Dellon Layne conversion. However, two goals in the space of seven minutes ensured that Uitvlugt maintained their undefeated record.
Clem Brotherson restored parity to proceedings as he made his presence felt in the 50th minute. The comeback win was then sealed in the 57th minute, as Kevis Fraser found the back of the net.
Due to the win, the Uitvlugt unit climbs onto 19 points to solidify their place atop the standings. On the other side, the All-Stars outfit remains in fifth position on seven points.
Meanwhile, Beavers downed Wales 1-0. Following a scoreless first half, Trevon Abrams recorded the only conversion of the contest, as he etched his name on the score-sheet in the 47th minute.
Due to the outcome, the Beavers side strengthened their grip on second place as they moved onto 16 points, while the losers remain rooted to eighth place on two points.
