The recent graduation ceremony for President’s College’s Class of 2024 took an unexpected turn when the Salutatorian Nishal Samaroo, a transfer student from St Stanislaus College, delivered an unsanctioned speech criticising the school’s administration and several teachers.

A recording of part of the speech, which has since circulated on social media, has divided the school’s community, drawing strong reactions from students, alumni, and parents.

Standing at the podium with a blend of nervous energy and determination, the Salutatorian gave commendation to teachers not believed to be part of the school’s staff.

He remarked: “It was the best school. That’s what you wanted me to say.” Pausing briefly, he added with a grin that he had given the school’s administration a different speech to vet.
