Eagles and Ravens advanced to the semifinal round following contrasting wins when the Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF) Elite 16 Championship continued on Saturday night at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

In the feature contest of the evening, the Eagles unit overcame the Colts 79-74. Zion Gray tallied 31 points, while Travis Belgrave and Michael Turner chipped in with 17 and 14, respectively. Adding nine points was Denzell Ross.

On the other side, Charles Williams tallied 20 points, while O’Quacey Short and Sheldon Thomas added 18 and 12 points apiece. Dellon LaRose chipped in with eight points.

The first stanza ended positively for Colts who seized a 19-14 advantage. However, Eagles would reduce the deficit in the second stanza, as they outscored the Colts 24-21 to trail 38-40 entering the halftime interval.

Eagles carried their momentum into the pivotal third quarter, netting 17 points while restricting Colts to a meagre 11 points to secure the lead at 55-51. Eagles then outscored Colts 24-23 in the fourth period to secure the win.

Meanwhile, the Ravens dismantled Kobras 67-32. Shamar Huntley, Nikkoloi Smith, Terrence Daniels, and Ryan Stephney scored 12, 10, 10, and 10 points, respectively. For the loser, Lawrence De Costa made nine points.
