ERC Harmony T10 Tapeball League

Strike Force, the Other Guys, Kings, and IBS recorded contrasting wins when the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) Harmony T10 Tapeball Championship commenced yesterday at the Transport Sports Club ground in Thomas Lands, Georgetown.

Strike Force crushed the Ministry of Agriculture (Hydromet Service) by 50 runs. Batting first, Strike Force tallied 116/8. Davindra Deosarran top scored with 38. In response, the Hydromet unit stumbled to 66-8 at the end of their allocation. Haresh Pertab top scored with 23 runs.

Similarly, the Other Guys thrashed the Ministry of Human Services & Social Security (MHSSS) by eight wickets. Batting first, MHSSS recorded 113/6. Ricardo Holder top scored with an unbeaten 36, while Rawle Bourne and Simeon Marc tallied 26 and 17 runs, respectively.

In response, the Other Guys smashed their way to 117/2 in 6.2 overs. Brian Sookram led the assault with an undefeated 83. Adding 16 runs was Nateram Ramnarine.

Likewise, IBS mauled KFC Guyana by 73 runs. Led by a 60 from Ryan Bagwandin, IBS amassed 139. Adding 27 and 19 runs were Troy Smith and Xavier Henry. KFC Guyana, in reply, were bundled out for 66 in 9.5 overs. Raphael Narine top scored with 27.

Meanwhile, Kings defeated Queenstown by 36 runs. Batting first, the Kings recorded 136/5 as the trio of Jermaine Dewsbury, Kennard Moonsammy, and Ryan Latiff scored 42, 38, and 26 runs, respectively. In response, Queenstown stuttered to 100/7 at the end of their allotment. Faadil Hakh top scored with 32.

The event will continue in both the East Coast and East Bank Demerara sections on Sunday. The final is pencilled for December 8th. The winners will receive $500,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up will pocket $250,000 and the corresponding accolade. The losing semifinalists will receive $100,000 apiece.

Individual awards such as the leading scorer, highest wicket-taker, and most valuable player of the final will also be awarded $60,000 apiece.
