Bartica miner remanded over armed robbery charges

Coby Joshua Clay called ‘Coby Layne’, a 22-year-old miner from Bartica, appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed to answer charges of armed robbery and break and enter.

He pleaded not guilty to committing armed robbery on Dorman Tobin. He was remanded to prison.

Coby was also charged separately for an armed robbery committed on Rona Tobin. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.

He was also charged yesterday with break and enter and larceny committed on Shabika Syfox. When the charge was read to him he pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.

He was further charged with another count of break and enter and larceny committed on Vimeleita Dupatta. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.

Coby was also charged yesterday with simple larceny committed on Recardo Gonsalves. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.

Coby was slapped with another charge of simple larceny, this time committed on Robert David. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison. All the matters were adjourned to 2024-12-13.
