-wants independent probe of his allegations
Facing over 200 criminal charges, Assistant Commissioner of Police Calvin Brutus yesterday launched civil proceedings for misfeasance in public office against senior members of the GPF and SOCU and called for an independent inquiry into his claims.
This was revealed in a press release issued yesterday by his lawyers. The release did not identify who in the Guyana Police Force (GPF) or the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) are the subjects of the civil proceedings.
The release said that Brutus is asking the Court to award him in excess of $400m in damages.
