Commissioner of Police (Ag) Clifton Hicken has welcomed the return of five ranks of the Guyana Police Force who completed the New York Police Department (NYPD) Police Academy’s Driver Education Training Programme, which was conducted from November 11 to 14, 2024 at the NYPD Academy in Bloomfield, Brooklyn, United States of America.
The participating ranks were Sergeant C. Pedro; Sergeant J. Patterson; Sergeant D. Sitaram; Sergeant K. Gordon and Corporal E. Bowlin.
The ranks are now stationed at various departments in the Guyana Police Force, namely Presidential Guard, Police Regional Division #7, and Police Regional Division 4 ‘A’. According to the release, all gained certification upon completion.
