The Attorney General’s Chambers says that Justice Nareshwar Harnanan yesterday upheld the jurisdictional objection made by Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo disputing the High Court’s jurisdiction to hear and determine the application filed by Opposition Members of Parliament seeking to have his seat declared vacant because of absences from Parliamentary sitings.

Indian PM conferred with Order of Excellence

President Irfaan Ali last night conferred Guyana’s highest national award “The Order of Excellence” on India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at a State Dinner hosted by the President and his wife, First Lady Arya Ali, at their official residence.
