Pouderoyen and Crane recorded hard-fought wins when the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground.
Pouderoyen downed league leader Beavers 2-0. Dontae McAulay recorded the only conversion of the first half as he found the back of the net in the fifth minute. The second half mirrored the first, with the only conversion emanating from the boot of a Pouderoyen player.
In this instance, Devin Gaskin scored the only goal of the period as he etched his name on the score-sheet in the 49th minute.
Due to the outcome, Pouderoyen maintained their unbeaten run as they climbed onto 15 points and strengthened their grip on third place, while the loser remained in second place on 16 points.
Meanwhile, Crane clipped Eagles 2-1. Donsford Williams opened the scoring for the Eagles following an 18th-minute conversion. Tyler Wharton then doubled their lead as he made his presence felt in the 21st minute. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.
Eagles would record the only conversion of the first half in the form of Alfred Neesham, who scored in the 75th minute.
With the result, Crane climbs onto eight points and moves into sixth place, while the loser remains in seventh position on four points.
