In much the same way that both international and domestic public awareness undertakings were launched, both locally and globally, to send a message to the rest of the world that Guyana was on its way to executing an oil recovery undertaking that was expected to eventually bring a c-change to the country’s development profile, so too, is its South American neighbour and fellow Caribbean Community member country, Suriname. Earlier this week, the energy news source, Oil Now, disclosed that the country will be staging its Suriname Awareness Symposium, a sign that the country is moving into its first offshore oil development phase.
