Dear Editor,
Based on the numerous complaints to the relevant agencies, via the media, about all types of issues, the public should be cognizant of many rules and regulations that exist in our society.
The issue that initiated this letter, deals with parking vehicles on pavements. This should involve common sense and consideration for fellow citizens. The situation is dire and what prevails on Alexander Street, Kitty could be used as an example. That is a very busy street with vehicular and pedestrian traffic and it could be catastrophic when pedestrians are forced to divert to walking on the road.
Road carnage is already at a peak and the City Council and the Traffic Department should address this scourge with alacrity. Stiffer penalties on drivers for infractions would serve as a deterrent to the current lawlessness perpetrated by drivers and motorcyclists.
Sincerely,
Conrad Barrow
