Marian Academy, Waramuri, Potaro advance to semis

MVP Girl’s U-11 Football

Defending champion Marian Academy, as well as Waramuri, St. John the Baptist, and Potaro, advanced to the semifinal round following quarterfinal wins in the MVP Sports Girl’s U-11 Football Championship yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Marian Academy dismantled Smith Memorial 5-0. Chrissyanne Persaud tallied a hat-trick in the 16th, 25th, and 30th minutes, while Haley Haberkorn and Haley DeNobrega scored in the 35th and 39th minutes, respectively.

Likewise, Waramuri thrashed Genesis 5-0. Keshanna Thomas recorded a hat-trick in the fourth, 10th, and 18th minutes, while Alina Lewis bagged a brace in the 28th and 34th minutes.

Similarly, Potaro thrashed Stella Maris 4-0. Reniese Joseph led the way with a hat-trick in the second, 22nd, and 33rd minutes, while Aria Khan scored in the 37th minute.

Also, St. John the Baptist bested West Ruimveldt 3-1. Akeelah Da Silva, Elliana Grant, and Tania Callender scored in the fifth, 30th, and 35th minutes, respectively. On target in the loss was Ariel Farley in the first minute.
