The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) recently facilitated two social media marketing training sessions for representatives from tourism-focused indigenous communities.  According to a post on its Facebook page, the authority’s Senior Manager of Marketing Annarie Seecharan trained eight  people in Shulinab Village, while Senior Officer of Marketing Nickoli Primo, trained another eight in Aishalton Village.

Describing the training sessions as comprehensive, the authority said they covered vital topics, including creating a social media business page, influencer marketing for tourism, social media etiquette, setting effective goals and objectives, content strategy and storytelling, the power of video marketing, and utilising analytical tools to measure success.
