A police constable stationed at Brickdam Station and attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was attacked and stabbed by four men, believed to be Venezuelans, while on foot patrol on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 23:45 hrs on Cornhill Street, Georgetown, while the officer was conducting a foot patrol in plain clothes near the Stabroek Market area. He was at the time armed with a .38 revolver and 6 rounds of ammunition, a police press release stated.
