Philon Edwards, a 26-year-old soldier of the Guyana Defence Force and resident of No. 30 Village, West Coast Berbice, was arrested on November 22, 2024, and charged today with the attempted murder of his fiancee.
The accused appeared at the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, where the charge was formally presented to him, and he was not required to enter a plea. Bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison, the police said in a statement.
The case has been transferred to the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court and adjourned to December 12, 2024, for the filing of statements.
Edwards is accused of attempting to murder his fiancee Litisha Reynolds, a 23-year-old at No. 30 Village, West Coast Berbice.
