Inaugural Global Super League bowls off today 

Following what seems like a rushed buildup, the world’s newest franchise T20 cricket league, the Global Super League will burst onto the scene tonight at the Providence National Stadium here in Guyana with local franchise, the Guyana Amazon Warriors taking on Pakistani outfit, the Lahore Qualandars.

Scheduled to bowl off at 7 pm, the Warriors will be led by returning captain Imran Tahir while Pakistani international Shaheen Afridi will skipper the Qualandars.

The Warriors side boasts a handful of Guyanese cricketers in Romario Shepherd, Shimron Hetmyer, Keemo Paul and Kevlon Anderson as well as England all-rounder Moen Ali.
