In keeping with tradition, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) recently held a Service Dinner to pay tribute to a retired warrant officer and nine other senior non-commissioned officers who have dedicated their careers to the service of Guyana.
This was announced in a GDF release on Wednesday which explained that the Force upholds a proud tradition of recognising the commitment, sacrifices, and contributions of its ranks, both past and present. The dinner, held on Tuesday evening, celebrated the distinguished careers of Warrant Officer Class One (Ret’d) Winston Stuart, Retired Staff Sergeants Gailann Nazier-Assanah, Rebeka Dover, and Sithole George, along with Retired Sergeants Cleto Mona, Grendall Thomas, Leroy Rock, Roxanne James-Cadogan, Vince Haynes-Carmichael, and Marlon Amsterdam.
Each honouree was recognised for their steadfast dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions to the Force and the nation.
According to the release, the event was attended by Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan; Colonel General Staff, Captain Vernon Burnett; Colonel Administration and Quartering, Commander Roger Nurse; Adjutant General, Lieutenant Colonel Eon Murray; Inspector General, Lieutenant Colonel Natasha Stanford-Francis; Commandant of the Guyana National Reserve, Lieutenant Colonel Lloyd Souvenir; and other senior officers. The presence of these senior officers underscored the importance of honouring those who have paved the way for the Force’s continued excellence while serving as an inspiration the ranks of the Guyana Defence Force.
