Library launched at St Ignatius Primary in Region Nine

St. Ignatius Primary School in Region Nine now boasts a new library that was officially launched on Saturday, November 23 by Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, a Ministry of Education (MoE) release said.

Hailed as a significant step in fostering a love for reading, while expanding access to educational resources in Region Nine, the library, now open to the students and teachers of the school, features a wide selection of books catering to various age groups and interests. It also provides dedicated spaces for quiet reading, group study, and storytelling, creating an inviting environment for learning and creativity.

During her visit,  Manickchand interacted with the students, and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities the library offers. She shared her own passion for reading and highlighted how books can open the door to knowledge, adventure, and personal growth.

Looking ahead, plans are underway to expand this initiative to additional schools and incorporate digital tools to complement traditional reading materials. These developments will further enrich the learning experience for students and help to prepare them for an ever-evolving world, the release added.
