St. John the Baptist was crowned the Bartica Primary Schools Football Champion, defeating Batavia 1-0 in the final at the community centre ground.

Kristian Chandler recorded the only conversion of the contest to seal the crown. It was his 21st goal as he also won the highest goal scorer accolade alongside teammate Kareem Welcome, who was adjudged the event’s most valuable player.

In the third-place encounter, Potaro defeated Karrau Creek 1-0 via a Kendrick LaRose strike.

Kareem Welcome (right), who was adjudicated the event’s MVP, also copped the highest goal scorer award with 21
conversions alongside teammate Kristan Chandler.

In the earlier semifinal segment, St. John the Baptist drained Karrau Creek 4-0. Joel DeAndre bagged a hat-trick while Welcome netted one conversion. Similarly, Batavia crushed Potaro 4-1 in the other semifinal fixture. Randy Lyte and O’Bryan Pollard recorded respective braces.

Meanwhile, Domonic Girang of Batavia was adjudged the best goalkeeper.
