The Canadian High Commission here yesterday presented two grants totaling of $100,000 CAD (7.5 million GYD) each to empower indigenous communities and combat gender violence.
The presentations were made under the Local Engagement and Action Fund (LEAF). The initiative, now in its second year, focuses on empowering communities and addressing critical social challenges in Guyana.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Adam Loyer, Head of Co-operation at the Canadian High Commission, emphasized Ottawa’s dedication to localized development strategies.
