Guyana’s tourism sector is set to benefit from a broader range of experiences with the launching by the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) of seven tourism products, designed to provide diverse ‘Destination Guyana’ experiences while catering to both local and international travellers.
This was announced in a Department of Public Information (DPI) release on the launching ceremony which was held on Thursday at Herdmanston Lodge, Queenstown, Georgetown.
The new tourism offerings are: 1) Guyana Biking Adventure –Atta Rainforest Lodge (Iwokrama River Lodge); 2) Rupununi Hiking & Cultural Expedition – Touring Guyana; 3) Jaguar Tour – Adventure Guianas 4) Jungle Survival Tour: Rock-stone –The Wild Tales; 5) Essequibo River Jungle Trip – The Wild Tales; 6) Kato Hiking & ATV Adventure – Patamona Tours; and 7) Jonestown Memorial Tour – Wanderlust Adventures GY. Jonestown is the site of a mass suicide in 1978 that claimed around 900 lives.
