Republic Bank Schools Football League
In a battle of the unbeaten sides, Chase Academy completed a perfect 7-0 campaign as they dispatched Dolphin by an 8-1 score-line to capture the Republic Bank U-18 Schools Football League crown last evening at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Bryan Wharton, who eventually copped the Highest Goal Scorer accolade with 15 conversions and the Most Valuable Player accolade, tallied five conversions in the second, fifth, ninth, 49th, and 50th minutes.
Adding goals in the 51st, 62nd, and 64th minutes were Neron Barrow, Omar Sam, and Neeiaz Baksh. For the loser, Brian Brower netted a consolation goal in the 50th minute.
With the win, Chase Academy clinched the top spot with 21 points, while Dolphin Secondary finished in second place on 18 points.
Meanwhile, West Ruimveldt dismantled President’s College 8-0. Jeremiah Griffith bagged a five-goal haul with conversions in the 12th, 30th, 33rd, 39th, and 43rd minutes, while Joel Griffith tallied a brace in the 21st and 27th minutes. Adding a goal in the 62nd minute was Donovon Welcome.
Likewise, South Ruimveldt dispatched East Ruimveldt 7-0. Zaphenath Hutson bagged a double in the 16th and 63rd minutes, while Seon Grant netted a brace in the 20th and 55th minutes. Adding goals in the fifth, 28th, and 48th minutes apiece were Jahim Hart, Shane Dalrymple, and Carlo Robinson.
Also, Waramuri defeated Bartica via walkover.
