Business houses are committing environmental and traffic violations in Bath Settlement with impunity

Dear Editor,

I am kindly asking you to please put this article in the letter column of your newspaper. Every government reserve land in Bath Settlement, Region 5 is being illegally occupied by the business people. They encroached on the roadway causing pedestrian to walk on the middle of the road because the shoulder of the road is used for bars and fast food outlets. This can lead to serious road accidents. These owners dump their garbage into the drainage outlets causing blockages which leads to flooding and pollution in the area. Soon this can cause a health issue.

Also, the streets of Bath Settlement are littered with abandoned vehicles creating impediments to the free flow of traffic. Look at a place called Level-Up – built on the road. Are our elected officials blind? They cannot see or are they a part of the issue? It seems that no one cares. We have a PPP parliamentarian in Region 5 who seems to care less. I am asking Viceroy Jordan, PNC parliamentarian to visit Bath and highlight these issues in parliament.

Sincerely,

Vikash Persaud
