Kashif & Shanghai Year-End Futsal

Sparta Boss, Stabroek Ballerz, Bent Street B, and Albouystown-A recorded contrasting wins when the Kashif & Shanghai Year-End Futsal Championship commenced at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue on Wednesday evening.

Sparta Boss dismantled Melanie 12-0. Kelsey Benjamin led the rout as he bagged a five-goal haul in the 14th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, and 27th minutes. Adding braces were Carl Griffith, Darron Niles, and Omari Glasgow.

Griffith found the back of the net in the first and 2nd minutes, while Darron Niles etched his name on the score-sheet in the fifth and 13th. Glasgow converted in the eighth and 15th minutes. Adding a goal in the 24th minute was Jermin Junior.

In similar fashion, Stabroek Ballers dispatched Mighty Ruler of Bartica 8-2. Dwayne James tallied a hat-trick in the 15th, 25th, and 28th minutes, while Shamar Welch, Dorwin George, Seon Taylor, Gerry Burnett, and Mark Jhalu scored in the fourth, 17th, 18th, 25th, and 29th minutes, respectively. On target for the loser was Sealon Sue in the 14th and 23rd minutes.

Meanwhile, Albouystown A squeaked past Sophia Ballers 3-2. Alex July, Devon Dooker, and Wayne Sampson scored in the 20th, 26th, and 30th minutes, respectively. For the loser, Peter Smith netted in the eighth and 11th minutes, respectively.

Similarly, Bent Street B overcame Street Vibes 1-0. Anthony Gaskin recorded the only conversion in the 26th minute.

Also, Festival City defeated Money Bell via walkover. The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.

The winner of the men’s tournament will pocket $2,000,000 and the championship accolade, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will receive $1,000,000, $500,000, and $200,000 apiece and the corresponding accolade.

Each eliminated side barring the four semifinalists will walk away with $30,000.

In the women’s division, the victor will collect $200,000 and the respective accolade, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will receive $100,000, $60,000, and $40,000 apiece.
