Timehri United downed the Herstelling Raiders 2-0 in a battle of the top teams when the East Bank Football Association (EEBFA) Boy’s U-14 League continued.
Timehri seized the early advantage as prolific forward Nyron Barrow made his presence felt in the eighth minute. The conversion stemmed from the handball infraction inside the penalty area. Tasked with the responsibility from the distance, Barrow made no mistake as he fired his effort past the goalkeeper.
It proved to be the only conversion of the first half. However, the second half started brightly for Herstelling as they were also awarded a penalty following a handball infraction inside the area.
Unfortunately, Herstelling, who possesses the services of the prodigious Wayshawn Forde, failed to convert from the distance.
Timehri would capitalise on Herstelling’s failure as Barrow completed his double in the 42nd minute. It was a moment of individual brilliance as Barrow uncorked a powerful strike from outside the area that sailed into the bottom left corner of the net.
The tournament continues on Sunday.
