Hosts Uitvlugt completed their title winning campaign in the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League with a draw against traditional rival Pouderoyen.
In what was a battle of top two sides, hosts Uitvlugt, was held to a scoreless affair by the visiting unit, in the process ending their campaign with an unbeaten record.
Meanwhile, Beavers crushed Limitless 3-0. Kenaz Stephens opened the scoring in the 39th minute. It was the only conversion of the period as the score remained unchanged. Seon Stephens then doubled their advantage as he found the back of the net in the 70th minute.
Anthony Harding then completed the rout, following a 75th minute conversion.
Also, Wales edged Uprising 2-1. Following a scoreless first half period, Jamal Ramdeo broke the deadlock in favour of Wales in the 55th minute. However, Uprising restored parity to proceedings in the form of Orwin Waite who scored in the 68th minute.
Nevertheless, Daniel McPherson secured the go-ahead winner for Wales, as he made his presence felt in the 78th minute.
In the prior match-day at the same venue, Uprising and Crane recorded comfortable wins.
Uprising grounded Eagles 3-1. Marvin Thomas commenced the rout with an 18th minute strike. Uprising then doubled their advantage as Julian Anthony netted in the 30th minute. The score remained unchanged entering the halftime interval.
Jamal Baker further increased Uprising’s advantage as he scored in the 65th minute. Kelvin Kyjal would eventually record a consolation goal in the 70th minute.
In similar fashion, Crane Rovers downed Bell West 4-0. Kadeem Andrews opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Rawl Garrett then doubled the lead in the 47th minute, before Tyler Wharton made his presence felt four minutes onward to push the score to 3-0. The result was then sealed in the 55th minute as Devon Smith netted.
