– duo replaced by Blades, Mindley
Guyanese Shamar Joseph and Barbadian Matthew Forde have been replaced in the West Indies Men’s One Day International (ODI) squad for the impending three-match series against Bangladesh in St. Kitts and Nevis.
This was confirmed by a correspondence from Cricket West Indies. According to the statement,
“The medical team on further assessment determined that Forde must continue rehabilitation from a sustained injury. Additionally, Joseph is suffering from shin splints following the completion of the recent test series and will be monitored by the medical staff ahead of future assignments.”
Joseph was among five Guyanese selected in the squad alongside Gudakesh Motie, Shurfane Rutherford, Shimron Hetmyer, and Romario Shepherd.
Meanwhile, Mindley recorded the most dismissals as a fast bowler in the recently concluded Super-50 Championship to secure his maiden selection, while Blades, who was a part of the West Indies Academy, snared 14 wickets in the same venue to earn his inaugural selection. The duo joined the squad yesterday evening.
