Potaro Strikers receives the championship trophy after winning the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League.

Potaro was crowned the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League champion, battling to a 1-1 draw with second place outfit Rising Stars at the community centre ground.

Needing only a draw to secure the title, while their opponent required a victory, Potaro seized the lead via a Daniel Gardner conversion. Gardner, who ended as the league’s top scorer, found the back of the net in the 23rd minute to secure his 12th goal of the campaign.

However, the lead proved to be short-lived, as Ashton Dutchin equalised following a 35th-minute strike. The second half failed to provide a winner, as the respective defences thwarted the attacking forays.

Daniel Gardner of Potaro Strikers collects the Highest Goal Scorer accolade with 12 conversions.

Meanwhile, Agatash ended their campaign with a 4-0 thrashing of Mil Ballers. Michael Hope commenced the rout as he etched his name on the score-sheet in the 17th minute. Hope then doubled their advantage as he sealed his brace in the 29th minute. The score remained unchanged entering the halftime interval.

Rising Stars receives the second-place accolade.

Josh Allen then took over the goal-scoring responsibility as he made his presence felt in the 66th minute to push the score to 3-0. The result was then sealed in the 70th minute, as Allen completed his double.
