In observance of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, hosted a workshop on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

The workshop, led by  Jairo Rodrigues, Senior Specialist of the Gender Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security (MHSS), sought to equip members of the Labour Ministry’s Gender-based Committee with essential knowledge and tools to address and prevent GBV. Participants were trained on how to play a proactive role in supporting those affected by violence, regardless of gender, a release from the Ministry of Labour said.

This initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts of the PPP/C Government and the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security’s  GBV campaign, which includes programmes such as the Spotlight Initiative, the Community Advocate Network (CAN), and the 914 hotline, all designed to combat gender-based violence.
