Ghana’s recent elections reflects how this model of democracy functions well

Dear Editor,

The recent election in Ghana is a victory for democracy. The ruling party conceded defeat even before a final declaration was made. This is a commendable gesture on the part of the ruling party especially given the chequered political history of Ghana. The military played a dominant role during the pre-1992 period. All of that has now changed and Ghana is today a model of democracy in the African continent. Like Guyana, Ghana transitioned to a democratic state in 1992 and is today a stable and democratic society.

Sincerely,

Hydar Ally
