The government is planning to construct a bridge over the Makouria Creek, in an effort to improve access between Parika and hinterland regions with the project soon going out for tender.

This was announced by Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, a Department of Public Information (DPI) release stated yesterday.

The project includes extending the road from Parika to Makouria Goshen, providing an alternative to the Parika ferry service, and  Edghill highlighted the ease this new route would bring during a signing ceremony in Bartica on Friday.
