Guyana departs today for FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup Championship

Team Guyana will depart today for San Juan, Puerto Rico, to compete in the impending FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup Championship slated for December 13th-15th, with the Government of Guyana and the Guyana Olympic Association funding the squad’s participation.

Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., met the team, which comprises Nikkoloi Smith, who featured in the 2022 edition; Travis Belgrave, Harold Adams, and Dominic Vicente, prior to their departure, and stated that the present administration is committed to the development of basketball.

He noted that initiatives such as the ‘One Guyana’ Basketball Premier League are evidence of such a commitment. Guyana Basketball Federation Vice-President Rawle Toney will serve as the team’s coordinator.
