Due to a lack of funding from its parent body, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), the Rupununi Football Association (RFA) has opted to suspend its men’s and women’s league championship with immediate effect.
This was confirmed by a press release from the RFA. According to the correspondence, which was dated December 9th, “The Rupununi Football Association (RFA) wishes to announce that it has taken the decision to suspend its 2024 Rupununi Football Association Male and Female League with immediate effect. This decision is a result of funding from our parent body, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), not being disbursed as promised. As such, the RFA has had no choice but to suspend the League until further notice.”
