The three-year wage deal that GAWU and GuySuCo signed on December 11 envisages a monthly minimum of $100,000.
The terms of the agreement, according to a Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) release yesterday include: Effective January 01, 2024, an across-the-board pay rise of ten per cent; Effective January 01, 2025, an across-the-board pay rise of eight per cent, and, effective January 01, 2026, an across-the-board pay rise of nine per cent.
According to the release, the agreement encompasses field, factory, and factory-type workers; field foremen/forewomen, and field superintendents.
