interior of Magic City, a  night club located on Garnett Street, Georgetown.

According to a source, the fire service received a call at about 16.00 hours about fire at a night club located on the lower level of a two-storey building. Subsequently, one water tender from Headquarters and two from the Campbellville Fire Station responded. The fire was successfully put out, preventing it from spreading to the upper flat of the building and nearby buildings. No injury was reported but there was significant interior damage to the club. Investigations are ongoing to assess the damage and ascertain what may have caused the fire.

Meanwhile, an employee of a bar located near the club told the Stabroek News that about 15.00 hours, he was sitting at the bar when he saw smoke coming from the club. He quickly alerted the residents of the building and the fire service was summoned.

When Stabroek News arrived at the scene at around 17.00 hours there were three fire tenders present and the fire was already out. When approached for a comment, the owner of the night club declined,
