The owner of Cyril’s Transportation Service (CTS) Muishankar ‘Sunil’ Persaud, was last week arrested by police after he opened fire on one of his vehicles assigned to transport an ExxonMobil executive.
The ExxonMobil executive was not in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, but contracted ExxonMobil driver, Kordel Assanah, was in the vehicle, taking it to a Vlissengen Road petrol station for a fill-up. Four shots were fired at the vehicle, hitting one of the wheels, sources told Stabroek News.
The December 2nd incident was kept quiet by the police until yesterday and only after Stabroek News had made inquiries about it on Thursday. The police have not explained why they did not publicly address the incident until yesterday.
