Police vehicle in collision, drivers to be charged

The police yesterday said in a statement that investigations are ongoing into a  collision that occurred at about 3.45 am yesterday on the Good Hope Railway Embankment Road, East Coast Demerara, involving a Guyana Police Force motor-pickup #PAC 5250 driven by Jamal Thompson, a 28-year-old Lance Corporal, and motor car #PVV 6015 owned and driven at the time by Reinaldo O’Selmo, a 29-year-old from Belfield, East Coast Demerara.

UK Foreign Secretary visits

President Irfaan Ali and David Lammy, on his first official visit to Guyana as Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, held bilateral discussions on advancing  cooperation between the two countries, a statement from the Office of the President said yesterday.

The KFC Goodwill International Schools Football Championship will commence today at the Queen’s College and Ministry of Education grounds with four matches, with the teams receiving their respective uniforms and training balls yesterday at the entity’s Vlissengen Road location.
