(Trinidad Express) Bandits slit the throat of an elderly woman and left her to die in her home on Saturday night.

Her elderly husband, whose hands were bound, was helpless to fight off the two armed criminals who invaded their home in Couva.

Dead is Amina Mohammed, 68, of Nancy Street, in Lisas Gardens.

Her 74-year-old husband sustained minor injuries.

Police said the criminals announced a robbery when they stormed the couple’s home.

They tied up the husband’s hands, then took two knives from the couple’s kitchen and took her into a bedroom where they killed the wife.

The criminals then ransacked the house and stole jewelry and cash, then escaped.

Police officers of the Couva Station and Homicide Bureau of Region Three are searching for the perpetrators.
