Kwakwani, St. Rose’s High, and the Bishops’ High recorded respective divisional wins when the Youth Basketball Guyana Titan Bowl Championship commenced at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue on Friday.

Kwakwani downed Mackenzie High 39-34 in the boy’s division. Simeon Sinclair amassed eight points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Lenrick Seaforth tallied seven points and four rebounds. Adding six points apiece were Tyreek Sampson and Keon Kellman.

On the other side, Isaiah Cameron recorded 11 points and six steals, with Latrell Glasgow and Owen France scoring eight and seven points, respectively.

Continuing in the same division, St. Rose’s High edged New Amsterdam 31-28. Cheziah Bernard top-scored with 13 points in the win, while Donny Gasper tallied a double-double of 11 points and as many rebounds. On the other side, Jayden Rampersaud netted seven points and five rebounds, with Samuel Emanuel netting seven points.

The Bishops High bested Skeldon Line Path 32-24. Paul France amassed 11 points and five rebounds, while Aedyn Lall tallied nine points. Adding five points and six rebounds apiece were Kemol Pickering and Alex Burnett.

For the loser, Aldon Angel netted nine points, with Keeshan Gajraj contributing six points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Kwakwani dismantled President’s College 22-4 in the girl’s section. Sherese Leacock tallied eight points in the win, while Maria Samuels added six points and four rebounds. Brianna Benjamin recorded four points and six rebounds.

For the loser, Jenelly Paddy netted two points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Bishops’ High thrashed Marian Academy 42-8 in the girl’s division. Rehaicia Romain amassed figures of 30 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Rushanna Mitchell supported with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Also, Queen’s College, St. Stanislaus College, and President’s College recorded wins in the boy’s division.

Queen’s College dismissed Berbice High 42-24 in the boy’s segment. Owen Hooper recorded 16 points, seven rebounds, and five steals, while Nathan Morrison contributed six points and seven rebounds. For the loser, Avion Kesney tallied 15 points, six steals, and five rebounds.

Likewise, St. Stanislaus College dismantled Marian Academy 56-21. Daniel Chisolm recorded 17 points and seven rebounds, while Kadeem Beckles and Hartley Pryce tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively. Adding seven points, six rebounds, and nine steals was Dimitri Crandon.

Similarly, President’s College defeated School of the Nations 29-12. Lamar Thomas registered 10 points and rebounds, while Mattaniah Fordyce tallied eight points and four rebounds, and Romarion Wolfe added seven points and six rebounds.

On the other side, Demarco Dalgetty and Rudi Vancooten tallied five points, respectively. The tournament continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
