The case of the Canada-based Guyanese woman, Roma Dookeran, who was found dead on the Leguan foreshore on March 15, 2023  is still under investigation.

Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum, when contacted for an update into the matter, told Stabroek News that the probe is still ongoing. Asked if anyone has been arrested for the woman’s death, Blanhum responded he couldn’t say anything at the moment as the investigation is still ongoing.

Dookeran, 68, was found off the Leguan seashore in a semi-nude condition after being dropped off at the CJIA to head back to Canada following her stay at Perth Village on the Essequibo Coast.
