The Central Housing and Planning Authority’s road improvement project outside of the Giftland Mall has caused significant disruption for both shoppers and businesses around the Mall this Christmas season.
The construction of a four-lane road by K.P Thomas, complete with a median and traffic lights, was scheduled to begin in July according to reports but was delayed repeatedly, with work finally commencing just as the holiday shopping season was ramping up.
According to workers at the construction site, the project was initially planned for the middle of the year, but multiple delays pushed the timeline back. Now, with the Christmas season in full swing, the project is in also full swing – and so is the chaos that comes with it.
